Closed beta 6

August 12, 2009 1 comment

NCsoft posted an update on the official website to tell us a little more about the 6th, and last, closed beta. The level cap won’t be any higher, but who cares ? The game is great even at low-levels!

The Sixth Aion Closed Beta Event

August 11, 2009 12:17 PMFollowing five successful and productive beta events, we now have in front of us the pinnacle of closed beta mountain. We now cast our eyes toward the promising horizon, revealing the approaching open beta and the much-anticipated release of Aion.

This upcoming sixth and final closed beta event marks the end of an era. As such, we have decided to make the most out of it. We will not be raising the level limit from that of the previous event. The maximum level will be level 30 for Elyos and Asmodians alike, encouraging you to spend some time to catch up with your friends or explore the vast lands of Atreia.

We want to conclude closed beta testing on a high note, so we are arranging a series of story-driven in-game events, in part hinting at some of the much-anticipated content forthcoming in our massive launch and pre-launch updates. Keep that F5 key handy, since more information on these live events is headed your way later this week!

Closed beta 6 is primed to rocket onto the servers on Friday, August 14, 2009, noon PT (8 p.m. BST, 9 p.m. CEST). Our beta forums open their gates two hours earlier, and access to them will be ongoing throughout the weekend until Monday.

Keep in mind that you will need either an exclusive Aion closed beta 6 access key, a full-access key acquired through fansite program competitions, or have preordered the game in order to partake in the event. A limited number of closed beta 6 access keys will be given away by a few selected gaming web sites over the coming week, so keep those eagle eyes open if you are looking to grab one.

Look for more information on this upcoming sixth closed beta event shortly. Until then, fly safe!

So there you have it this is the last closed beta and they’re planning some kind of ingame event. I guess we’ll see a little more about the famous 1.5 patch. Stay tune to learn more about it. The official release is getting closer and closer, if you’re like me, I guess you can’t wait anymore either :P

Details about Closed Beta #5!

July 30, 2009 3 comments

Here’s some details about the next closed beta which will be starting friday. Thise time they’re adding a lot, a lot of sounds effects that were missing in the previous beta. Here the post directly from aiononline.com.

We had a blast showing off Aion to the enormous crowds of people and potential robots at Comic-Con in San Diego last week. It was a crazy event that spanned five days – but we are now back in the office, getting ready to launch a brand new beta event that is sure to tickle your curiosity. Read on.

Closed Beta event #5 (CB5) is incoming, ladies and gentlemen, and it’s coming with a respectable shipment of fixes, improvements and fine additions which we have worked hard to complete since the previous event. To give you an overview, please find below a pure list of things to expect for this coming weekend:

* New Sound files have been added
o NPCs should now have a greet and farewell voice
o Cutscenes will now have voice
o Race Prologues are now available when you create a new character for Elyos and Asmodian
o Tutorial videos are now available in game via the help menu
o Player voices are now available at character creation
o System voices are now available
* New NPC Dialogue/Quest text for Theobomos and Brusthonin
* Various Localization fixes
o Broken HTMLs have been fixed
o Various grammatical errors have been fixed
o Various Glossary term fixed
* 2 New servers added for each territory

Especially exciting for us is to introduce a first round of English audio, allowing you all to have a small taste of a more completely localized version of Aion. As we have announced before we are committed to releasing Aion with all its content adjusted and culturalized into top-notch English, including character voices and voice-overs. Keep in mind that these are currently implemented as a beta feature and that they will contain minor irregularities and bugs. Bear with us as we work to polish this and extend the volume of content even more in the foreseeable future. You will be able to log in to the game no later than on Friday noon PDT (8 PM BST, 9 PM CEST), marking the exciting dawn for two entirely new game servers for each territory. In order to promote newcomers to join these new servers, character creation will be disabled on all other servers during the beginning of the event.

Meanwhile, the much asked for beta forums will open for responsible posting again on Thursday 30th noon PDT (8 PM BST, 9 PM CEST). Don’t miss it, as constructive feedback means a lot to us and allows us to make even more accurate improvements to the game before launch.

Let us thereupon extend a hopefully helpful recommendation as conclusion to this announcement. The audio-rich patch for CB5 is definitely a big one, and it’s advisable for you to boot up your patcher as soon as possible in order to get the game ready for the weekend. Waiting until the last minute to download all the new content we’re pushing out for this event could mean that you miss out on a good amount of enjoyable playtime!

That’s all for now, see you in Atreia!

That looks like a great update, I can’t wait to create a new Asmodian character! I thought that I would not be able to play in this closed beta, but it turns out that I’ll be able to play a little bit Friday and maybe even Saturday! So see you guys ingame.

Oh, and by the way, the patch is 438.3 MB, so you should really do as they say, and start the update as soon as possible, because the servers will surely be overloaded on friday…

Some Aion news

July 27, 2009 3 comments

Hello, There’s a couple news about Aion today. First of all, Ten Ton Hammer posted a great article about Poeta, the Elyos starting zone. They go through the whole map accompanied by screenshots. They also give a complete list of the quests available in the area. Great read for those who didn’t have the chance to play the game yet. You can read it on TTH, or by clicking on the following link : http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/71610

Still in the Aion department, IGN launched their Aion portal, you can reach it at aion.ign.com. IGN is alway a good source of informations and news, so be sure to check it out. They also have a pretty complete Wiki already up.

And, last but not least, @aion_ayase posted a short video they made during Comic Con 2009. They seem to have quite a lot of people playing their demo station. They were also giving beta codes and poster and stuff, I would’ve love being there. There’s also a guy dressed as Rorschach, it’s really well done, kudos to him.

So that’s about it for today, I’ll try to do those kind of post on a regular basis.

Thanks for reading, have a nice day!
