Get ready to try it out people! I know I will. I hope my computer can run it. If not I’ll have until march to buy a new one hehe

Edit 10pm: It seems I was high on something since Final Fantasy XIV is coming out in September and not in March, the March version is for the PS3, my bad.

My first XAES run

March 10, 2010 1 comment

First thing first, you should know that I never really liked doing instanced dungeons or raids. I tried in some other games before but it never really appealed to me. I’ve always be the gatherer/crafter/quester kind of guy. I never absolutely wanted the best gear or the best stats, I just want to enjoy the game I play. So, with that said, let’s start.

Yesterday Zawa and I decided to try XAES to finish some quests and see what it looks like. But before even thinking of going in we had to find a group to help us. We tried it before only the two of us… and it was clearly too much for only the two on us.

So after finding 4 other people we went in, everyone was level 11 or 12, except for Mutie who was 17 and my healer who was level 9 at the time. At first I didn’t really know what to expect so I went in without expectations. The first part of the instance was normal, monsters were only a little more difficult than the other one in the rest of the city, although for my healer, almost every monsters are hard, so no real surprise there. We finally met the first boss, a Goblin, unfortunately I forgot his name. It was not as hard as I thought, everyone seemed to know their job and everything went smoothly.

Then we moved to the other part, killing every monster on our way. We got to the second boss, a Gibberling. He jumped on us from the stairs and attacked us. He was a little harder to kill than the first boss we met. It look like he had a bit more HP and defense. But we brought him down quite easily.

After that one we went in the building to continue on our journey through XAES. Everything was smooth and relaxed. But then, we got to the boss. I don’t know what happened but it didn’t went as smoothly as the rest of the run, at least for me. I got killed by a little monster that passed through our front line of attack and got to me who was trying to keep everyone alive. Being a healer… a life long irony, you try to keep everyone alive but you can’t keep yourself alive, in my case anyway.

The good thing here is that I finished a couple of quests and managed to ding level 10. After that we made another run with other people and it went even smoother that the first time. In all that I had a great time and my Allods Online meter went up a little and each and everyday I’m getting to like the game more and more.

Here’s a  video of our run. Enjoy

Some good news for the players

September 17, 2009 Leave a comment

Today NCsoft gave the Oceanic players a good news when they announced that they will launch with an Oceanic server which will be GMT+10. The server will be Nezekan.

Here’s the post from the official site:

AION TO LAUNCH WITH OCEANIC SERVER!

September 16, 2009 5:04 PM

The key to launching an MMORPG of Aion‘s magnitude is communication. We’ve been keeping everyone following the game aware of what our plans are and listened to your feedback, creating a dialog with you. We’ve also kept an eye on the various Aion communities, talked to Aion community members, and compared what they have said and requested with our beta test data. Based on all this input, we have decided to launch Aion with an Oceanic server set to GMT+10.

Our Oceanic communities have already masterfully executed unofficial polls indicating their server desires. To honor these community efforts, the North American server Nezekan will be adjusted to an Oceanic time zone and event schedule immediately. The server will however not be labeled as an Oceanic server right away, but we plan on changing that in a patch within the first two weeks after launch. We are doing everything we can until then to let everyone know about the plans for Nezekan’s future time zone schedule to allow players to make informed decisions.

We experienced some frustrating technical difficulties with the surveys we launched early this week meant to help roleplayers and language-specific communities choose their unofficial game servers. Many Aion communities saw a need to coordinate their members and were much quicker than we were to organize surveys. We have decided to honor their hard work by permanently taking our own survey down, since we have no desire to interfere with what our great communities accomplish or cause confusion. We will continue to work with the fansites in our Fansite Program to promote their community survey results.

Stay tuned for more information on Aion‘s release, and be sure to follow us on Twitter (@aion_ayase, @aion_liv, @aion_xaen, @aion_amboss.

The people at NCsoft seems to be listening to the demands of the players.  Speaking of which, in the new Korean patch, the Spiritmasters pet can now fly too! This is great news for every spiritmaster out there. I don’t know when we’ll be getting that patch, but it’s still great news!

Here’s a video showing the pets in action.

Here’s two short video I managed to edit and put online before going. I won’t have this computer for 3 weeks, but I’ll have a laptop, so I’ll still be able to post news and the usual stuff I post.

Now, on to the videos!

Yeah, the second one is only there for my own pleasure, I like making short stupid movies like that :P
